Why does a company hire an outside vendor? Usually it's because they a) don't possess the skills in house and need expert help or b) they have the skills but don't have the time. The latter has the potential to be a very dangerous client. This is what I am going to talk about in this blog post. I've been in the professional service business for close to 15 years (20 if you include my house painting company in college) - so I know what it means to manage client expectations and hand hold a client throughout the process. When I started Imagistic in 1997, it was easy - no one knew a thing about the Web -all theyknew was that they needed a website and they would pay top dollar for it. It was great because we were getting paid to learn. But times have changed, clients are more savvy, more educated and well... they know too much.
