Designed by Lightray Productions and developed by Imagistic, the Los Angeles Fire Department, one of the largest fire departments in the nation successfully launched their new website. Found at www.lafd.org, the new site has a modern look and feel, is mobile and tablet-friendly, and is fully ADA compliant (section 508).
"The Los Angeles Fire Fighters hold an important place in the minds of Angelenos and we wanted the way they interact with the public to be straight forward and powerful, just like we want them to be when they're fighting a wildfire or saving our lives," said Kimberly Brooks, founder of Lightray. "We also look forward to working with Chief Terrazas as we develop an intranet that will set the standard for how fire departments communicate in the 21st century."
The project included re-orienting content to be local, converging multiple sites into one, and developing a state-of-the-art intranet to enhance internal communications.
Lightray hired Imagistic president, Kevin Howard Goldberg, to be the project's CTO and to implement all project technology and development. "There were a lot of moving pieces and governmental considerations. With the Lightray team, we delivered a secure, easy-to-use, and effective communication tool for the LAFD."
